Happy New year .......almost. Just a few more hours.Hope the new year brings good things for everybody.Well, just a couple more days withe the boys at home. I hate when they have to leave , but I guess that's motherhood.Holly(our dog) is imitating my son Peter. He jumps up, she jumps up, she's trying to box with him too. She's got a good left paw.
I've found some great new crochet patterns inInterweave's new winter issue.I think I'm going to try a pretty blue sweater.I'm glad i stuck to my guns this year and finished my knitting projects.
Even the beautiful mohair wrap i made for My friends sister. That was a year long project. Not that it really took that long, just that i get distracted and start other projects. If only I was an octopus, I could knit all my projects at the samer time. Peter gave me the most beautiful ginger coloured wool that he go at the Granville island market. I love it. A chunky knit scarf is in it's future. That and a gift certificate to Beehive wool shop and I'm in heaven.I"d like to knit a bunch of funky slippers for the Treat Tuesday Christmas Bake Sale next year. The ones I made this year, sold out.
Ah........ now to enjoy the New Year's evening with the boys.

red fish blue fish

ah... it's the weekend..finally. This felt like the longest week ever. Makes the weekend so much sweeter!Today is a lazy day.. besides doing the laundry, I'm not planning much. I decide to watch a movie early on in the morning. It's called Cloverfield. I've heard mixed reviews. Early on I can tell I'm not to enthused and end up watching about half an hour of it and switch it off. Maybe I'll try watching it later. I'm heading downtown to do some errands and have lunch with my son at a great fish and chip place at the inner harbour. It's called Red Fish Blue Fish. It has the most amazing food,
absolutely fresh!! I have the halibut and chips and my son has the bbq salmon sandwich. It does not disappoint. This place is a gold mine, it's always busy. You can eat right there on the dock and enjoy the scenery and people watch.Afterwards we head to Chinatown to pick up a few goodies then head home. It was a lovely way to spend the day

Chicken little.....

This is the little chicken who literally crawled onto my lap on the first night of our vacation. You can't tel,l but the leg that isn't visible in the photo, is permanently outstretched(birth defect).
Such a sweet little cluck, she kind of 'purrs' when you pet her.

last day of vacation

Tomorrow is my last day off of my two week vacation.I'm back at it on Tuesday, at the crack of dawn. Hmmm... it was alot easier getting up at 5:30 back about ten years ago when I started my marketing position. Ah well, I'd still rather be behind the scenes, than dealing first hand with customers. Been there done that!!Now that I've only got one day left, I want to cram in so much into that one day. At least go down to Chinatown, and get some wicker windowshades and work on my knitting...I'm juggling two knitting projects. Two babies are on their way!!
